contemporary embroidery at the makerie:
I am so honored to be a teaching Contemporary Embroidery at The Makerie in Boulder, Colorado this coming Spring, April 27-30, 2017! I will be joining an incredible group of women including Arounna Khounnoraj, Elise Goodwin, Geninne Zlatkis, Lizzy House, and Sarah Neubert to teach textile-oriented workshops tucked away at the base of the Flatiron Mountains.
I will guide participants through a contemporary embroidery project emphasizing drawing, composition, and fresh color combinations while celebrating intuitive decision making and a departure from the traditional conventions of hand-embroidery.
Participants will immerse themselves in the meditative and relaxing process of stitching and walk away with a new piece of contemporary art.
