Class Description: Spend time painting and stitching a contemporary design on paper with artist and stitcher Sarah Benning. In this three-hour class, you'll start by sketching, then Sarah will guide you through the process of transferring your sketch onto thick watercolor paper. Next, explore basic color mixing and brush techniques before painting your design. Sarah will present a sampling of stitches you might want to use such as running stitch, backstitch, whipped backstitch, couching, and other combinations that work well on paper. You'll apply the chosen stitches to your painting and end with time to ask questions and share your work.
